Western science has proven what ancient traditions have known for centuries: sound has the power to heal. For years, leaders in the alternative health world such as Deepak Chopra and Dr. Andrew Weil have utilized and spoken of the real health benefits of sound healing to our body, mind and spirit. Sound Healing is unique among healing modalities because we can feel its effects through the vibrations it creates in our bodies, and at the same time, it works to balance the subtle energy fields.
The physics of sound plays an important part in how sound healing benefits us. Different sound vibrations interact with our physical and energetic bodies in different ways. Sound can be used to open and expand constricted areas, or cleanse and release blockages. It can be used for deep relaxation and also inspiring motivation.
Stress-reduction is the most simple and wide-spread result to receiving sound healing. Stress is the underlying cause of many physical conditions, and it melts away with ease when you are bathed in a sea of sound healing vibrations. Many people have also recovered from life-threatening illnesses such as Cancer and AIDS through the benefits of sound healing therapy.
Sound Healing is so effective because it influences our emotional bodies as well as our physical bodies. Emotional imbalances are at the root of many physical diseases, and when we heal our emotional bodies, the physical symptoms disappear. Sound and emotions are deeply connected. Human emotions have their immediate expression through sound, and it is often the repression of the sound of the emotions that creates emotional blockages. Conversely, sound can be used to unlock the blocked emotions and release them with ease and grace.
