Each of us has the natural power within to create – from finger painting to putting words together to create clear communication, we have been creating since we were born. As we grow and evolve, it is important to both acknowledge and nurture our ability to create – not just art, but opportunity, dreams and different aspects our lives. Join us with this series of talks featuring local artists who share their personal experience and journey with creativity and the role it has played in their lives.
After the discussion, they will lead an interactive exercise for the group.
There is NO cost for this event, but please call to sign up if you can but drop-ins are welcome. Each month a different artist is featured and will also bring some of their artwork for available for purchase after the talk.
For June, our featured artist is Jane Batley. Jane has been a creative person all her life, and currently has a small business making gemstone malas and prayer beads. She will be speaking about her love of creating and using malas for meditation. Following her talk, she will lead the group in a mantra meditation using malas. You do not need to have a mala to enjoy this meditation. If you do have one, please bring it, will will have some available for you to try if you don’t have one.
